DEAN ZERBE

Prior to joining alliantgroup, Mr. Zerbe was Senior Counsel and Tax Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. He worked closely with then-Chairman and current Ranking Member of the Finance Committee, Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), on tax legislation. During his tenure on the Finance Committee, Mr. Zerbe was intimately involved with nearly every major piece of tax legislation that was signed into law – including the 2001 and 2003 tax reconciliation bills, the JOBS bill in 2004 (corporate tax reform), and the Pension Protection Act.

 

Mr. Zerbe is a frequent speaker and author on the outlook for short-term and long-term changes in tax policy. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU and a J.D. from George Mason University.

BRENT OLMSTEAD

J. Brent Olmstead is a fourth generation Idahoan born and raised on a cattle ranch south of Twin Falls. He graduated from Twin Falls High School and received BS in Economics from Utah State University. He has also earned an MBA and an MS in English.

Brent is the Assistant Dean for External and Government Relations for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Idaho. Prior to working with the University, Brent was the President of MPIdaho, LLC a Public Affairs consulting firm in Boise representing a wide variety of business interests both in Idaho and in the Northwest. 

​

Mr. Olmstead has over 25 years of experience in Idaho public affairs and politics. He is active with many different organizations including the Idaho Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Food Producers of Idaho, and Idaho youth soccer. He serves on the Idaho Small Business Development Center Board, the Idaho Weed Control Committee, and the Idaho Food Safety and Modernization advisory board.
